Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 19, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how NOVEMBURGER INC. ("NOVEMBURGER", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects personal information when you visit novemburger.org (the "Site") or otherwise interact with us. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described below.
Information we collect
We collect information you voluntarily provide, including:
- Contact form: your name, email address, subject, and message.
- Restaurant enrollment form: business name, contact name, email, phone number, website / social handles, past participation, proposed Novemburger concept, and any other details you choose to share.
- Voting: if you cast a vote during the November voting window, we record your selection and use a device / browser fingerprint and a hashed version of your IP address to enforce our one-vote-per-person rule. We do not sell or publish this data.
- Automatic technical data: basic log data such as IP address, browser type, referring page, and pages viewed, used to operate and secure the Site.
Cookies, analytics, and tracking
We deploy the Meta Pixel on the Site to help us understand how visitors find and use NOVEMBURGER™ and to measure the performance of our promotional campaigns. We may add Google Analytics or similar analytics tools in the future. These tools use cookies and similar technologies that may collect information about your device, browser, and browsing activity, and may share it with Meta, Google, or other providers in accordance with their own policies.
When you submit the restaurant enrollment form, the Meta Pixel may automatically transmit SHA-256 hashed versions of your email address, first name, last name, and city to Meta as part of Meta's Automatic Advanced Matching. The hashing happens in your browser before the data leaves your device, so Meta does not receive readable versions of these values. This data sharing is subject to Meta's own privacy practices.
You can control cookies through your browser settings and opt out of many advertising cookies via your device or platform preferences.

Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share limited information only with:
- Service providers that host the Site, deliver email, and provide analytics or advertising measurement (including Meta and, if enabled, Google).
- Our beneficiary partner, Breakthrough T1D Canada, only in aggregate or anonymized form (for example, total funds raised) unless you have separately consented to more.
- Authorities where required by law or to protect our rights, property, or safety.
Retention
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes above, or as required by law. Vote records are retained for the current event season and then aggregated or deleted.
Your choices
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information you have provided by emailing us at the address below. You can also unsubscribe from any non-transactional emails at any time.
